Kristin Jones is an independent reporter and an intern at the Center for Public Integrity. She has reported on human rights, national and international politics and finance for the investigative unit of ABC News, ProPublica, The Nation, the Albany Times-Union and the South China Morning Post. As the senior researcher in the Asia program for the Committee to Protect Journalists for three years, she covered attacks on journalists from Afghanistan to the Pacific Islands, with a particular focus on China during the run-up to the 2008 Olympic Games. She was a fellow in the Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism at Columbia University, where she earned a master’s degree. She speaks Chinese and Spanish.
