Peter Noorlander is a lawyer who specializes in the fields of media law
and human rights. He is currently Legal Director of the Media Legal
Defence Initiative, a new organization set up to provide defense
litigation support to journalists and independent media outlets around
the world. He previously worked for the Open Society Institute’s Media
Program, where he ran the media legal defense portfolio, and at ARTICLE
19, an organization that works around the world to protect and promote
freedom of expression and information. He has been involved in
successful freedom of expression litigation in various countries as well
as internationally.
