Weiqiang Ye, assistant managing editor, executive editorial member and research department chief at Caijing magazine, the most influential business and financial news organization in China. He is responsible for collective decisions on editorial issues, and in charge of the Op-Ed columns, economics reporting and analysis. He also supervises Caijing online: www.caijing.com.cn.
Weiqiang Ye got his master of economics from Peking University, and joined Caijing at 2001. He founded the research department from scratch, and has led the department in covering everything from economic institutions, to macro-economics and policy, to corporate governance. He also plays an important role in advising the reporting of other desks. During the SARS outbreak in 2003, he co-led the groundbreaking editorial team to report on the epidemic in China. His influential reports include “The Worries at the Central Bank”, “After the Peg of RMB” and exclusive interviews with domestic and international policy makers.
